Press Release- Slapstick iOS Game Kungfu Slap Parodies Chinese Martial Arts Wing Chun

OrionArts Studio releases a new and free iOS app Kung Fu Slap 1.0 which parodies real world Chinese Martial Arts Wing Chun, made popular in recent years by Kungfu film Ip Man. Kungfu Slap is a simple test of how fast you can tap to deliver slaps in a whack-a-mole style, much like the sleek Wing Chun moves that were displayed in the Kungfu film.

Also, instead of playing against artificial intelligence, Kung Fu Slap features real world opponents like a friend or a random player from Game Center in a real time match. Opponent experiences virtual brutality in the form of dramatically bruised eyes, swollen lips and missing front teeth on their game avatar as the game progresses.

While most mobile games take approximately 4 months or more on the average to develop and polish, Kungfu Slap was conceptualised and produced over a two week time frame by two programmers and one graphic designer.

Kung Fu Slap was described as an “on the fly” mini challenge issued by the company’s creative manager to the programing team. They had managed to get a two-week lead ahead of the art team in the revamp of their flagship game “Toyzilla” and were keen on a new and bite-sized project while waiting, and delivered they did.

Seems like the team behind Kung Fu Slap deserves a slap on their back for their zest to entertain.
